Intern Development Program
Prior to receiving initial registration for an architect's license in Louisiana, individuals must satisfy the educational, experience, and examination requirements as established by NCARB and adopted by Louisiana. The first step in becoming an architect is earning a professional degree from a college or university that has an architecture program accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). In Louisiana,it is acceptable to complete your experience requirement and examination concurrently. The experience hours are to be in an IDP work setting, according to the rules and regulations defined in the IDP Guidelines. To learn more about the current examination requirements refer to the ARE Guidelines for the most current information and version of the exam.
